Candidate Questionnaire

What motivated you to run for the North Dakota Legislature? (100 words max)

I think that over the years, it’s evident that my Legislators consistently vote with the lobbyists and not for the north Dakota residents. This seemed evident during Covid that my legislators voted to restrict medical freedoms both vaccine and transgender surgeries issues. I am just your neighbor not a politician and hope to bring common sense voting back to the District such as Faith--pro life, anti grooming. Family--school choice, parental rights. Freedom--farmers and Ranchers property rights, Tax Relief, Election Integrity

What personal, professional, or community experiences have best prepared you to serve as a State Legislator? (100 words max)

40 years of civil engineering in land development, flood control and water quality. Hard work in District 13 as Secretary developing a strong core group. Was invited to the Mike Lindell convention, learning allot about voter integrity. Worked the Cass County Voting Centers and canvassing board. NDGOP election integrity volunteer. President of the West Fargo Senior Club which provides free meals. Genera Service Representative for Alcoholics Anonymous. Member of Gate City Lions Club. Active in Local Church-Submerge

If elected, what would be your top three priorities for the State of North Dakota, and why? (100 words max)

Looking ahead five years, what do you see as the most significant opportunities and challenges facing North Dakota? (100 words max)

Energy and Agriculture industries. Education to keep more of our children in the state.

Do you support the use of state funding for programs and initiatives aimed at attracting, developing, and retaining talent throughout North Dakota? Please explain. (100 words max)

As stated above, some spending is needed for key industries and education, however, expanding government through budgetary spending is mostly justified for catastrophic natural disaster. Against government growth, we argue it erodes personal freedom, bloats bureaucracy, and fuels inefficiency. Most government programs, like welfare or green energy subsidies, foster dependency, distort markets, and waste taxpayer money. North Dakota’s legislature should slash non-essential programs, research privatize services like education funding via vouchers, and reduce regulatory agencies that stifle business.

Do you support the use of state funding for economic development, such as incentives, tax credits, and other programs to support business retention, attraction and expansion? Please explain. (100 words max)

Yes, in a limited sense as stated above.

In 2023, F-M Metro COG conducted a study of the metro area’s housing market that identified the need for 16,400 housing units across the region by 2033. What policies or tools can the Legislature use to support the development of attainable, market-rate housing in Cass County and across North Dakota? (100 words max)

Affordable housing is a big issue, nation wide too. Lowering local taxes and special assessments will help with that. Discontinuing corporate buy out of single family homes is a policy that we can borrow from the federal government. However, I question COG's information. If housing is a big demand then private industry will build, with or without municipal incentives.

Access to quality childcare continues to be a major concern for families and employers across the state. If elected, how would you work to expand access to affordable, high-quality childcare in North Dakota? Please explain. (100 words max)

My running mate ran a family owned non profit day care. I believe that as homeschooling is growing so to can home day cares. The larger state programs are doomed to corruption as we have seen in Minnesota.

Do you support the development of the Red River Valley Water Supply Project? Please explain. (100 words max)

As a retired flood control engineer I was surprised to see such significant projects for such a small population. However, what is done, is done. I hope that the flood control can incorporate water conservation and water table management. I support the water pipeline, however, since it mostly benefits new development, new development should pay their fair share.

Do you support the development of a Natural Gas Pipeline to Eastern North Dakota? Please explain. (100 words max)
