North DAkota House of Representatives district 22

  • I have been able to build a small business from scratch to a mid-size company and retired early at age of 64, last year. I faced worker shortages and would like to work on giving reasons for our young people to stay in the area after they graduate. I have a bachelor's degree in business administration and in economics.

    • Working on building policies that encourage inclusion and encourage our young people to stay and work here

    • Protecting and restoring personal freedoms

    • Quality healthcare for veterans and seniors

  • One of our challenges is our workforce. Better training, incentives and most of all, stop the hate legislation that discourages them from building their families here.

Work on promoting home ownership, and policies that provide for our veterans. Understand the barriers seniors face as they grow older and work on policies that lessen their load.

  • Too many business face labor shortages, as my stores did. Absolutely, as expressed about, I would like to develop programs that train and retain our workforce. We will be paid back many times the investment we make, when we develop and support a strong workforce, if done the right way.

  • Yes, I'm in favor of considering all possibilities to keep a strong workforce. We don't have to reinvent the wheel since many programs exist around the world. We need to consider the successful ones and to monitor them thoughtfully after implementing them.

  • Childcare should be one of our priorities. Not only can we financially afford to support our children with lunches, public education, and childcare, we can't afford to ignore the problems here. And building affordable housing is a must. Property tax reform should be discussed. When families decide where to live, they often look at housing and property tax expenses to make an informed decision.

  • I do not believe that there is only one answer to this question. I do believe that state funding should be considered an option on all projects that will improve the lives of those that choose to live here.

  • I believe the money in the legacy fund should be saved for emergencies, but I do believe that the money that builds in the fund, from interest or investment gains, could be used for projects that are strong enough to get 60% of our vote.

  • No, but I do believe that we should consider lowering the property taxes for seniors and to use property tax abatements as an incentive for people to purchase homes.
