JefF Trudeau
MAYOR OF HORAce
-
My top 3 priorities would be:
1) To fine tune the special assessment policy
2) Finish the 2nd sewer connection to Fargo
3) Planning for a city hall
-
My previous experience on the Horace City Council has helped to prepare me for this role.
-
The rising cost of infrastructure and the ability to keep up with the need for infrastructure to accommodate the new growth.
-
The city needs to offer a stable tax rate and predictable special assessments to attract businesses for continued economic growth.
-
There is a time and a place for everything. If the city feels there is a need to spur growth and if there is a positive return on investment, I am not against the use of incentives. Prior to any type of incentive being used, the city needs to develop a policy as to how it should be used to prevent abuse.
-
My first steps would be to try to set realistic expectations. Horace is a smaller town when compared to the neighboring cities. The number of units suggested by the study would be hard to accomplish for a city the size of Horace. The suggestions may also not be what the city residents want in our community.
