In 2025 we open a new pod in our jail. We will have to hire about 40 people in the sheriff’s department to fill that and other areas that are needed.

Our highway department has an aggressive 5 year plan on improving our roads and bridges.

Tax reduction. In the past five years the county reduced their mill levy by 10 mills.

The county works hand in hand with the cities and rural areas to bring in businesses and workforce. Example is the Soy bean plant, Grand Farm, We work with the city in granting TIF and PILOT programs. We work closely with Metocog in these areas.

I’m in favor of the new home exemption. It provides folks an opportunity to live the American dream in home ownership.
