Liz Conmy
North Dakota state House of Representatives Candidate
Party: Democratic-NPL
District #11
I’m an NDSU grad and earned a master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas. My professional career includes work in journalism, corporate communications, and as a faculty member at MSUM. Fargo’s been my home for 20 years and I raised my four kids here. I grew up in Langdon and continue to own and manage the family farm there. Currently, I serve on the Audubon Dakota board. Previously, I served on Essentia’s patient advisory board, school committees, NDSU’s master gardener program, and the most fun, Fargo’s St. Pat’s Day parade committee.
Q&A with Liz:
-
Wishing for change doesn't make it happen. North Dakota is falling behind...other states are more attractive with better pay, better benefits, better education, and better lifestyle. We need to be more competitive. That's why I'm running. I'm committed, capable, curious...and I care. We can do better.

-

To address these issues, we need to think long-term--and apply data and critical thinking skills to problems that need more than temporary solutions.

1. Education at all levels. 2. Economy/workforce 3. Healthcare access and affordability

We need to address the basics first: access to quality childcare, paid family leave, and quality education. With an infrastructure in place that supports workers, we can look at creative solutions to attract more workers.

I support tax incentives and economic development incentives. In addition, we should assist businesses in utilizing the North Dakota Growth Fund and other sources of venture capital.
