I have owned a small consulting company for the past 8 years. I have served on multiple youth sports boards and more recently have served on Moorhead’s Park Advisory Board, Public Service Commission and I am currently serving on Moorhead’s City council.

The most pressing issues facing Moorhead, MN, in the next five years include managing population growth, affordable housing, and infrastructure development.

As the city expands, it will need to address traffic congestion, upgrade public utilities, and ensure sustainable development while preserving green spaces.

Economic growth will require a focus on supporting local businesses, job creation, and diversifying industries.

Additionally, community safety, education, and inclusivity will be vital. To address these challenges, I plan to collaborate with local leaders, engage with the community, and advocate for smart planning, investments in infrastructure, and policies that foster economic and social well-being.

To attract and retain businesses and workforce in Moorhead, MN, I would support strategies that foster a business-friendly environment and a high quality of life. This includes offering tax incentives and grants to small and medium-sized enterprises, improving infrastructure, and expanding access to high-speed internet. Supporting workforce development programs in partnership with local colleges and vocational schools will help cultivate a skilled labor pool. Additionally, promoting affordable housing, enhancing public transportation, and creating vibrant recreational and cultural amenities will make Moorhead an attractive place for both businesses and their employees to settle and thrive.

As a local elected official, my role in addressing the housing shortage in Moorhead involves advocating for policies that encourage housing development and ensure affordability. My first steps would include collaborating with city planners, developers, and community leaders to streamline the permitting process, identify areas for new development, and secure funding for affordable housing projects. I would also prioritize revising zoning regulations to support diverse housing options, such as multifamily units, and explore public-private partnerships to stimulate investment. Ensuring that infrastructure and services are in place to support growth is essential for sustainable development.
