Rick Melbye

Bio

Dr. Rick Melbye and his wife Cheryl have been residents in Moorhead for 29 years.  He is a graduate of Concordia College, and later went on to earn his Pharm. D. degree at NDSU.

Rick enjoys community involvement and has volunteered in the FM Youth Athletics program.

He has enjoyed delivering “Meals on Wheels” in Moorhead for over 10 years in the past.

Rick has served on the Board of Directors with both Christian Counseling Center, Inc., and the Health Equipment Recycling Organization (HERO).

Rick has volunteered and served 2 years on the Moorhead Planning Commission.  He has served in many capacities with churches in the FM area and has been a “Bell Ringer” with The Salvation Army.

Small business is important to Rick as he looks toward the future of communities such as Moorhead, and their continued growth.  His father was a small-town grocer, and Cheryl has been an entrepreneur, previously co-owning a business in a small town, recognizing the importance of building relationships at all levels, and providing important products and services locally.

Currently Rick is a Registered Pharmacist in both MN & ND working with a small pharmaceutical company specializing in immunology.  He has graciously served in many Pharmacy Associations over the years, including The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NAPB).  He has also taught classes at the College of Pharmacy at NDSU.  

Rick enjoys time with family, reading, walking/hiking, shooting at the range, kayaking at the lake, and learning as much as he can about good nutrition and the best supplements for those looking to maintain or improve their wellness.  He enjoys giving back to the community, and if elected, will faithfully represent all peoples of Moorhead.
