Q&A with Steve:

  • The state of ND and Fargo/West Fargo communities have provided our family with many opportunities and blessings. It is important to be a servant leader and do everything possible to ensure that our state is meeting the expectations of the citizens. We need to bring back civil discourse in order to have constructive dialogue to provide solutions. It is important to bring all parties to the table and work collaboratively to resolve issues.

  • Serving in the ND House for 8 years has given me an appreciation of the importance of working collaboratively with others to resolve issues that the state needs to address. If elected, I can start on day one already understanding the process and hit the ground running. Was a member of Fargo School Board for 6 years. My experience as President/CEO of a community bank of over 700 team members with offices all over the state of ND/Western MN provided the opportunity to work with team members, customers and communities to address issues. Also, the importance I placed on servant leadership through our activities with non profit organizations to address their needs.

  • Childcare, Mental Health, Workforce, Inflation. Property tax relief. Numerous state, non profit and business organizations are proposing solutions to these challenges and by working with them, I would hope we can develop a great road map to address these issues.

  • Childcare, mental health, workforce development

  • Working with the Chamber, EDC and local business to determine what is or can be the most effective way to deal with this issue through the assistance of the state of ND either by grants, incentives, career academies.

  • Career academies, intern programs, grants, Fueling our Future, Renaissance Zone Authority are tools that I support.
